Fifteen minutes on foot from Piccadilly, under the arches, second unit past the brewery. There is no sign because the landlord will not let us put one up — look for the orange door and the roller shutter. If the shutter is up, we are open.

- 14 minutes from Piccadilly station. Down Ducie Street, left at the basin, follow the arches.

- Piccadilly Gardens, 9 minutes on foot. New Islington on the Ashton line, 11 minutes.

- Street parking on Tariff Street and Bengal Street. Free after 18:00 and all day Sunday.

- Ground floor, level threshold, no steps. The aisles are 1.1m and the bench at the back is fixed height.

Is it still there?
The commonest question, and a fair one. Tell us the line and your size and we will walk to the shelf and look. We answer on the same day we are open — Thursday to Sunday.
Drop day
Friday, ten in the morning.
Three hundred pairs of APOGEE 01, one per person, in the unit. No online release, no raffle, no queue system beyond standing in a line like an adult.
Queue forms
On Tariff Street, against the wall on the canal side. We will bring tea out at nine because it is Manchester in October.
Wristbands
Handed out down the line, one per person, size taken there and then so nobody queues for something that has gone.
Shutter up
In groups of six. Card only on the day. If your size has gone by the time you reach the front we will have told you at 09:45.
Whatever is left
Goes on the shelf at the same price, no ceremony. If it sells out before one, it sells out before one.
